With their latest comeback ‘GOLD’, ITZY managed to achieve a surprising record for another JYP Entertainment girl group: TWICE
MAKING HISTORY! Last Tuesday, the 5th, ITZY marked their seventh consecutive entry on the Billboard 200 chart, thanks to their most recent comeback album, “GOLD”, which debuted in 60th position on the Top 200 Albums chart, responsible for classifying albums most popular in the United States.
It is worth remembering that, as explained by the Soompi portal, although the album was released in Korea on October 15, it only arrived in the United States 10 days later, resulting in its “delayed” entry into the charts. With this, “GOLD” follows in the footsteps of six other albums by the girl group, namely “BORN TO BE”, “GUESS WHO”, “KILL MY DOUBT”, “CRAZY IN LOVE”, “CHESHIRE” and “CHECKMATE”.
With the recent feat, ITZY equaled the record for the girl group with the most entries on the Billboard 200 held by another JYP Entertainment girl group, TWICE, reaching the milestone in just three and a half years.
But it doesn’t stop there! “GOLD” also appeared on other major Billboard charts. The album debuted in third place on the weekly World Albums ranking, and in eighth place on the Top Album Sales and Top Current Album Sales charts, becoming the eighth best-selling album in the United States this week.
On the other hand, ITZY also appeared again on Billboard’s Artist 100 chart, being found in 37th position. This is the 11th time that the girl group has entered the ranking.
‘GOLD’ release
On October 15, ITZY made their newest comeback with the album “GOLD”, marking their first release in nine months, in addition to the return of the member Leahwho was away for health reasons.
The album, which features a double single, “GOLD” and “Imaginary Friends”, arrived accompanied by a super-produced video for the track “GOLD”. Check it out!
