On hiatus for two years, news about BTS’ group activities was mentioned by HYBE in a performance conference call
This Tuesday, the 5th, HYBE held a third quarter performance conference call, where, within the topics, it brought new information about BTS’ future activities, in addition to updating the group’s sales contribution, as reported by the Koreaboo portal.
At the time, the conglomerate explained that the formation achieved ₩ 528 billion KRW (around R$ 2.2 billion) in sales, and ₩ 54.2 billion KRW (around US$ 228 million) in operating profit in the third quarter 2024. The numbers represent respective drops of 1.9% and 25.4% compared to last year.
Furthermore, HYBE’s CFO, Lee Kyung Joonsaid that negotiations with the septet for new projects in 2026 are already underway. The revelation came when the executive recalled a question about the proportion of sales if BTS returned as a complete group, which he stated that there is still no way to calculate, but guaranteed that other artists will continue to rise even with the boy group’s comeback. He stated:
We are currently discussing with members about the group’s activities in 2026, so no projections have been made yet […] and although BTS is expected to generate significant sales, the dependence of BTS’s sales will not be as high as before in relation to new businesses, and the growth of other artists will also occur.
It is worth remembering that, currently, five members of the group, RM, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkookcontinue to comply with mandatory military conscription for South Korean men. Jin and J-Hopethey were dismissed on June 12 and October 17, respectively.
All members must complete their army schedule in 2025, the year in which it was estimated that the group would return with their first comeback in around 3 years. This is because BTS’s last release with all members took place in June 2022 with “Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)”; remember the MV!
