Spin-off of “Harry Potter”, the most recent title in the franchise starring Eddie Redmayne is “Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets”
The adaptation of the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ saga in cinemas seems to have come to an end! This is because, when asked about the topic by ComicBook (via Omelete), the actor Eddie Redmaynewho plays the protagonist Newt Scamander, revealed that he believes that “Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets” was indeed the last title to debut on the big screen.
He said:
That was a very frank answer, but yes. And that’s as far as I know. I mean, you’d have to talk to people at Warner Bros. and JK Rowling, but as far as I know, that’s it,” he said. “I think he might come back in a glimpse of the Universal world in Florida that they’re opening, in which you might get a glimpse of what he was doing in Paris.”
The titles, which are spin-offs of the “Harry Potter” novel and film series, did not have significant box office numbers, as the most recent film, released in 2022, grossed US$407 million (around R$2 .3 billion) worldwide. “The Crimes of Grindelwald” (2018) earned US$ 655 million (R$ 3.7 billion, at current prices), while the plot that started the trilogy, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” (2016), had at a total of US$816 million (approximately R$4.7 billion).
NEW ADAPTATION?
Still, this is not the end of plots adapted from stories written by the author JK Rowling. This is because there is a series in development, which, according to the CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group, Channing Dungeythe press (via THR), will have an even deeper plot than the films.
Honestly, it’s an unbelievable dream, and for someone who’s a huge fan of the books, the opportunity to explore them a little deeper than you can in a two-hour movie is the main reason we’re on this journey.
There are still no previous details released about the series, nor has the exact date on which the plot should debut been confirmed.
