(G)I-DLE’s Soyeon may leave Cube Entertainment, Korean media speculates

According to South Korean media, (G)-IDLE’s Soyeon is about to end her contract with record label CUBE Entertainment

According to the South Korean portal Xportnews (via Koreaboo), Soyeonfrom (G)I-DLE, is about to end his contract with CUBE Entertainment. The idol and the record label have been in recent discussions about a possible renewal of the document, however, it was reported this Friday, the 25th, that both parties have not yet reached an agreement, implying that Soyeon will leave CUBE after his contract expires in November.

However, according to Xportnews, no definitive decision has been made, with CUBE Entertainment declaring that “the discussion is still ongoing”, and that “Soyeon will continue to participate in its scheduled activities until the situation is resolved.”

Rumors about the possible departure of Soyeon of the agency began in August, during (G)I-DLE’s “iDOL” tour. During her solo performance, the girl group leader rapped about her contract ending next month, as well as using explicit language, which sparked concerns among fans about the group’s future.

Despite Cube Entertainment’s statement after the show, saying that “the lyrics of Jeon Soyeon they were just part of the performance”, fans remained concerned about the idol’s supposed indirectness. At the same time, Soyeon also published a letter to fans via Instagram, saying that the performance was in line with what the idol had rehearsed together with her CUBE team.
