ILLIT CEO comments on plagiarism accusations about NewJeans in audit

The CEO of Belift Lab appeared at an audit at the National Assembly to speak about the NewJeans plagiarism accusations in front of ILLIT

This Friday, 24th, Kim Tae HoCEO of Belift Lab, appeared as a witness in a National Assembly audit hosted by the Korean Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee to directly address accusations of plagiarism involving NewJeans and ILLIT.

In his speech (via Koreaboo), he says that legal action has already been taken against Min Hee Jinthe former CEO of ADOR who accused the girl group of copying the NewJeans concept:

Speaking as CEO of Belift Lab, a civil and criminal action has already been filed against Min Hee Jin, the former CEO of ADOR (…) As many people are already tired of everything that has happened this year, efforts will be made to that such situations do not happen again.”

Furthermore, Kim Tae Ho also stated that they will use documents that prove that plagiarism is a false accusation, demonstrating the girl group’s innocence.

Conflicts and new releases

Last Monday, the 21st, ILLIT held a press conference to promote the release of the second mini-album in the group’s discography, “I’LL LIKE YOU”, which is now available on the main music streaming platforms.

In the chat with journalists about the new project, the members Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee and Iroha were able to give details about the comeback, as well as comment on the controversies surrounding HYBE and the plagiarism accusations from Min Hee Jin, former CEO of ADOR who accused the girl group of plagiarizing NewJeans.

With the question, Yunah was led to state that, amidst the controversies, the members’ focus was just one: maintaining concentration for the release of the second mini-album, thinking mainly about the fans to deliver good work.
