5 stop motion films you need to watch

Check out some classic animation films made with the stop motion technique that you need to add to your marathon list

Existing for more than 100 years, the “Stop Motion” cinematographic technique is one of the great classics of cinema, where scenes are created through sequences of static images with small differences between them, which create the illusion of movement, using dolls at the same time. instead of drawings to create each painting.

Despite being a centuries-old technique, and one of the beginnings of animation, it is still used to this day, as in “Shaun the Sheep — The Movie: The Farm Strikes Back”, from 2019, and the winner of the category for Best Animated Feature at the 2023 Oscars, “Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro” (2022).

If you still don’t know much about Stop Motion, RECREIO has selected five classic films made with this technique that you need to watch. Check it out!
