The former One Direction man was found dead last Thursday, the 17th, after falling from the third floor of the hotel where he was staying in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Both artists were part of bands that, during the last decade, were very successful among young people. Furthermore, when they were still at the beginning of their career, between 2011 and 2013, 5 Seconds of Summer opened some shows for 1D, which established a good relationship between all the members.
Through X (formerly Twitter), Ashton made a series of publications, where he reflects on his sudden loss and the way he was treated by the artist; Check out the translations below:
I’ve been thinking about the times I was with Liam, and how kind he was to me. Whether backstage or passing through the airport, he always made the time worth it, and I feel very confused by his passing. I’m finding it very difficult to summarize how I feel, it was a huge loss for everyone.”
Been thinking about my times with Liam and how kind he was to me, wether backstage, passing by at an airport, he always made the time, I feel super confused by his passing and I’m finding it so hard to sum up the way it feels, such a massive loss for many.

I’m feeling heartbroken. My thoughts are with his family, his partner, the other members of One Direction and all of you. I feel like sometimes I was sitting in the front row to watch Liam perform and light your faces with his performances with the band. He was gone too soon. This is just horrible.”
such a sunken heart feeling, my thoughts are with his family, partner, and the other 1D guys, and all of you. I feel at times I had a front row seat back in the day to watch Liam light up lives with his performances with the band. Gone so soon. This is just horrible

I’ve been scared to share my feelings publicly because it terrifies me, but I’m trying to say that at the end of the day, I’m truly grateful for those early days when we toured and saw the world as a dream that became reality.”
I’ve been afraid to share my feelings publicly cause it terrifies me, but all I’m trying to say is at the end of the day, I am really really thankful for those early days touring with him and seeing the world the way we did was a dream come true
