During the press conference for their newest comeback ‘I’LL LIKE YOU’, ILLIT commented for the first time on HYBE’s controversies
This Monday, the 21st, ILLIT made the first comeback of their career with their second mini-album “I’LL LIKE YOU”, which arrived accompanied by a cute video for the title track “Cherish (My Love)”, a track which talks about valuing your feelings when you like someone. Watch!
Before the release, the girl group held a press conference (via Soompi) where they performed the song for the first time, in addition to answering questions from journalists present at the scene.
In addition to commenting more on the concept of the new album, and the huge success that was their debut “Magnetic”, the members were also asked about the recent controversies involving HYBE, which has been fighting a legal battle with NewJeans and Min Hee Jinformer CEO of ADOR, who accuses the conglomerate of colluding with the alleged plagiarism committed by BeLift Lab, which allegedly copied the aesthetics of the group formed by Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein to create ILLIT.
In response, Yunah stated that, despite the controversies, they would have focused only on doing their best to release the second mini-album, thinking mainly about the fans.
“We think about the fans who supported us. We want to protect the love of our fans, so we want to focus on showing our colors even more.”
In addition to “Cherish (My Love)”, the album “I’LL LIKE YOU” also features four more songs: “I’ll Like You”, “IYKYK (If You Know You Know)”, “Pimple” and “ Tick-Tack.” The album is now available on the main streaming platforms.
