During his testimony at the National Assembly hearing, NewJeans’ Hanni gave behind-the-scenes details at HYBE
This Tuesday, 15th, Hanniof NewJeans, appeared at the state audit of the National Assembly Committee on Environment and Labor to testify on issues related to workplace bullying.
During her statement, the artist commented that she reported the incident between her and the manager of another HYBE group who had instructed the idols to ignore her during a live broadcast held on September 11 alongside the other members of NewJeans, in which questioned the current management of ADOR.
“I don’t understand why I have to go through this and why this person would say something like that in a work environment. This has happened more than once or twice, and if I continue to remain silent, it will pass and be buried. This can happen to anyone. I decided to participate, hoping that current interns, veterans, juniors or colleagues do not experience this”, said Hanni in his speech.
Furthermore, the artist also revealed that, since her debut, she felt a different atmosphere in the company, and that the superiors she met did not always respond to her greetings.
“At the beginning of my debut, I met several superiors, but they never greeted me when I greeted them. While living in Korea, I understood that you should greet your elders well. I thought not greeting them was rude as a person. There was a certain kind of atmosphere in the company. It’s hard to say anything, and only people who have been affected can feel that.”
Another point reported by Hanniat the hearing is that, through the Blind app, used by HYBE employees, the star declares that she managed to see countless employees speaking badly about NewJeans, making her convinced that “the company hated us”.
“I also saw employees speaking negatively about the group on the Blind app. I even saw the director of the PR team trying to lower our Japanese premiere score. When I saw this, I realized that it was not just a feeling, but I was convinced that the company hated us”, he concluded.
The case remains ongoing.
