International RIIZE fans form a petition calling for Seunghan’s return

After Seunghan was removed from RIIZE, international fans of the group have been carrying out different campaigns for the idol to return to the lineup

After the announcement, made last Sunday, 13th, that Seunghan is no longer part of RIIZE, international fans of the group opened a petition asking for the idol’s return to the formation because they did not agree with SM Entertainment’s decision.

It turns out that Seunghan had been removed from RIIZE 10 months ago after part of the fandom condemned some of the artist’s actions before his debut, as images of him smoking cigarettes and next to a person that the media speculates to be an alleged ex-girlfriend came to light. Thus, upon returning to the group last Friday, the 11th, this group of fans once again opposed Seunghanthis time holding protests in front of the SM building asking the idol to leave the group permanently, culminating in the decision communicated by the company this weekend.

However, SM’s deliberation did not please the group’s non-Korean fans, who have since been calling for SM’s return. Seunghan training by sending protest trucks to the company building; posts on social media with the hashtags #SMSupportsBullying, #BringbackRII7E and #RII7E_or_NONE; and petitions created on the change.org platform.

There are two main petitions on the site. The first, titled “We want seunghan back! Riize is 7!!!!!” (“We want Seunghan back! RIIZE is seven”, in direct translation) already has 158,340 signatures out of 200 thousand, whose description states that Seunghan “had a promising future, but because of the horrible ‘fans’ of RIIZE, everything led to this unfortunate fate”, and that they want the idol to return to the group.

The second appears under the title “Bring Seunghan Back To Riize” (“Bring Seunghan back to RIIZE”, in free translation) and already has 186 signatures out of 200. The petition has the following description on the platform:

Kpop idol Hong Seunghan was unfairly removed from his beloved group RIIZE. His company, which was supposed to protect him, failed to do so, allowing him to face 1000 wreaths and death threats. Hong Seunghan is innocent and deserves to be back in the group with his members.
Please sign this petition if you want to see Hong Seunghan back in your group.
Sign this petition to show Seunghan that he is loved, wanted and cared for more than we can express through words on the internet.”

On social media, fans are campaigning for petitions to reach the required number of signatures.
