Disney has finally released the official release date for ‘Freakier Friday’ sequel to ‘Freaky Friday’; check it out!
For fans of “Freaky Friday” the wait is finally over! This Friday, the 11th, the Walt Disney Studios profile on X (formerly Twitter) announced the official release date of the film’s sequel in theaters: August 8, 2025.
The announcement was accompanied by an iconic photo of James Lee Curtis and lindsay lohan revealed during D23 behind the scenes of production; check it out!

“Freakier Friday” ended its recordings in mid-August, returning to the screen not only with the former protagonists, but also with the actor Chad Michael Murraywho lived the romantic interest of lindsay lohan in the first film. In addition to the trio, other names were also cast to reprise their roles, such as Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao. The new names include Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Sophia Hammon.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the plot will follow Anna (lindsay lohan) as an adult, now the mother of a 14-year-old girl with a sharp sense of humor, who is in a bad mood because Anna, who has always raised her alone, is about to marry a famous French chef. Just like in the first film, mother and daughter must repeat the exchange of bodies, but composing the family of Anna’s new romantic interest in the process.
