French President Emmanuel Macron has said he will “fight hard” to keep romance series Emily in Paris in France, rather than continue filming in Rome as the showrunners had planned.
In an interview with Variety, Macron emphasized that the series should take place in Paris, as it is more consistent with the concept of the show. He also shared his pride in his wife Brigitte Macron’s brief cameo appearance in the series, saying it was a positive thing for the country’s image.
“I was very proud and she was very happy to do it. It was only a few minutes, but I think it was a very nice moment for her. I think it’s good for the image of France. Emily in Paris is very positive in terms of being attractive for the country,” Macron said.
However, the president himself jokingly rejected the idea of playing a cameo role, noting that he is “less attractive than Bridget.”
