Check out some incredible non-Disney animations for you to watch with your little ones during Children’s Day
Next Saturday, the 12th, Children’s Day will be celebrated, a date created internationally on June 1, 1925 at the World Conference for the Welfare of Children that took place in Geneva, Switzerland, as a way of honoring little ones.
In Brazilian territory, however, the date was created earlier. In 1923, during the 3rd South American Children’s Congress held in Rio de Janeiro, which was the capital at the time, federal deputy Galdino do Valle Filho drafted a bill that transformed October 12th into Children’s Day in Brazil.
The commemorative date was only established a year later, on November 5, 1924, by the president Arthur Bernardes. However, despite being made official, the day only began to be actually celebrated by Brazilians in the 1960s, after a marketing campaign by the Estrela toy factory in partnership with the Johnson & Johnson brand was a huge success.
Since then, every year, families from all over the country look for the best ways to celebrate the date with their little ones, with gifts, games, special lunches, or just quality moments together watching a special film or series.
