NewJeans parents accuse new ADOR CEO of negligence: ‘Absurd’

In a recent interview, the parents of NewJeans members also accused ADOR’s new CEO of being unfit to deal with the group’s complaints.

This Monday, the 7th, the South Korean portal Ilgan Sports (via Koreaboo), published an interview with the mothers of the NewJeans members, where the matriarchs accuse HYBE of having deleted the security camera images where they captured the exposed incident put Hannia member of the girl group, in which she says she was disrespected by the staff of another group within the conglomerate.

“Strangely, they have CCTV footage of Hanni greeting the other group, but we saw that the problematic incident where Hanni was disrespected was deleted,” says one of the mothers. “How can they claim that the problematic incident was deleted by accident when they left the footage of Hanni greeting members of the other group untouched?”

In addition to questioning the situation involving Hannithose responsible for the artists also declared that they have been facing problems with the new CEO of ADOR, the HR (human resources) specialist, Kim Ju Youngstating that the businesswoman has not been transparent, and that she is not able to deal with the complaints presented by members with the brand.

“During the meeting, I raised concerns about the unauthorized leaking of videos related to NewJeans members’ trainee days to online media. Two days later, I received a response from CEO Kim Ju Young, saying that fans had filed a criminal complaint against that media outlet and Source Music, and that we could consider waiting for the results. I found this quite absurd.

In an email sent by CEO Kim, it was mentioned that NewJeans members could file a civil lawsuit against the media outlet for violating their right to publicity. However, we must also consider that pursuing such proceedings against a media company may be viewed negatively. Furthermore, he stated that without objective evidence about the leak, our chances of winning may not be high. It also mentioned that ADOR had sent an official letter to Source Music and the media outlet in August, but received no response.

She pointed out that there are no criminal penalties for rights of publicity violations and that even if we sue Source Music and receive a ‘no charge’ disposition, it could be used against us. Given that fans have already filed complaints against the outlet and Source Music, the email suggested that we might consider waiting for the results. I don’t understand how they can say there are no criminal penalties and then tell us to wait for the outcome of the fan complaint. At the same time, despite all these considerations, they offered to provide the necessary resources for NewJeans members to pursue legal action if they wanted. I find this completely contradictory and meaningless”, complain the parents.

Parents conclude the statement by showing concern about the new management of ADOR, imposed after the dismissal of Min Hee Jin of the position of CEO, in addition to concern about the future of the group.

“During this time, we have raised several issues with ADOR’s new management, including this one, and have engaged in numerous discussions. However, nothing has been resolved in the last few months, and I am now in a state of near despair and worry about the future. All we can do at this point is maintain the belief that the truth will prevail. As lies cannot last forever, we have faith that the truth will eventually come to light, even if it takes time.”, they conclude.

The case remains ongoing.
