Hollywood star Julia Roberts will be awarded an honorary Ceasar for her unparalleled contribution to the film industry. Deadline reported this.
The French Academy jury noted the versatility of the 56-year-old actress, who rose to fame in romantic comedies such as My Best Friend’s Wedding and Notting Hill, as well as dramatic roles in Pelican and Erin Brockovich. Separately, her iconic role in the movie Pretty Woman was highlighted, which brought Roberts a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination.
The French Academy also noted Julia’s cultural influence beyond the silver screen. The actress is actively involved in charity work, is a UNICEF ambassador, cares about the environment and protects women’s rights.
The 50th awards ceremony will take place on February 28, 2025 in Paris at the Olympia Hall.
