5 Pixar films that deserved a sequel

Even with several sequels, many Pixar films did not have their stories continued; discover 5 of them that could have new twists!

From “Cars” to “Toy Story”, Pixar Animation Studios has created incredible sequences for many of its stories, the most recent of which is “Inside Out 2”, which hit national theaters in June this year, following Riley’s emotions as the girl faces the arrival of puberty, the change of schools of her two best friends, the dream of joining the hockey team — and, of course, the arrival of Envy, Shame, Boredom and Anxiety in the command room.

Still, several of the studio’s major titles did not receive any sequels, even though, as revealed by Reddit users in an open discussion, fans are curious to know more about the characters’ experiences after the stories that introduced them.

With this in mind, RECREIO put together a list of 5 Pixar productions that, according to fans, deserved a sequel; check it out:

1. Ratatouille

Requested by @MysteryMammoth on Reddit, “Ratatouille” (2007), a story that follows a rat who wants to become a French chef, is one of the first titles mentioned. Even though the user does not mention what they want to see next, one of the possibilities would be to accompany Remy in new culinary challenges, such as traveling to participate in competitions or facing possible new threats to his restaurant.

2. A Bug’s Life

In the discussion, several users commented on “A Bug’s Life” (1998), with @TaffyPool revealing the reason why he would want to watch a possible new story: “The original is still very ‘watchable‘; I’d love to see another adventure with Flik, the circus troupe and the Princess and/or Dot.”

It is worth remembering that the plot follows the ant Flik gathering a team to face several hungry grasshoppers that threaten their colony.

3. Wall-E

Among the most requested is “Wall-E” (2008), a title that follows the robot that gives the animation its name, which lives alone on Earth compressing the trash left by humans. In the story, in addition to finding a loving companion in EVA, he finds hope that the planet can be habitable again when he discovers a plant seedling.

The animation also doesn’t have the motivations why fans want to follow a sequel, but it would be interesting to unveil the return of humans to Earth and new chapters in Wall-E and EVA’s romance.

4. Brave

Mentioned more than once, “Brave” (2012), a plot that presents the orange-haired princess facing a terrible curse after defying customs in order to define her own destiny, is also a good choice. “I would love to see Merida go on a journey or something. Really explore some of the magic and mystery of that universe,” explained user @readonlyred in the comments.

5. Luke

I really want to see more of his life at school and Alberto’s adaptation to having a caring father figure”, pointed out @OneSparedToTheSea
