ARAFAT DAĞINDAN’s composition has depth and contains a lot of symbolism and references to the history of the Crimean Tatar people.
Ukrainian singer Jamala released a new video for the song ARAFAT DAĞINDAN from the album QIRIM.
This is one of the longest videos in Ukrainian music – almost 7 minutes long. In it, the singer for the first time shared archival footage from Crimea, emphasizing his personal connection to his homeland. The video was directed by German Nenov, creative director of Eurovision 2023.
The clip has multi-layered symbolism, where Jamala describes the pilgrimage of the Crimean Tatar people, who are constantly searching for their place due to multiple expulsions.
It was previously reported that Ukrainian rock band Okean Elzy has released a new album, That Day, its first in eight years.
Jamala commented for the first time on the confiscation of property in Crimea
