Meeting in Tokyo
Despite their significant age gap of forty-three years, Mick Jagger and Melanie Hamrick seem to be thriving together. In February 2014, they met in Tokyo while both were traveling the world for their respective tours, one for music by the Rolling Stones, the other for dance and a new show at the American Ballet Theatre. One evening, Melanie Hamrick is invited by her friends to attend a band concert and then join them backstage. The evening ends with a dinner for two… And their romance was born shortly after, in June 2014, just three months after the suicide of L’Wren Scott, with whom she shared thirteen years of life.
On December 8, 2016, the young woman gave birth to little Devereaux, the eighth child of the English rocker. In the process, the couple bought a luxury villa in Sarasota, Florida for $7 million (€6.28 million). After a fifteen-year dance career, Melanie Hamrick retired in 2019 to devote more time to their son’s education. And now, it seems, the couple is even engaged. Indeed, rumors circulated in 2023, after some saw a ring on the former dancer’s finger.
