With thirteen members in total, Jeonghan became the first SEVENTEEN member to enlist in the military in South Korea.
This Thursday, 26th, Jeonghanfrom SEVENTEEN, has started mandatory military conscription for men over the age of 18 in South Korea.
As reported by the Star News portal, the idol will serve his country as a social worker, a role that belongs to the set of alternative services (including areas such as post offices, social welfare centers and community service organizations) intended for South Korean citizens who have some physical disability or some mental health condition. The agency responsible for managing the idol’s career did not reveal the reason why. Jeonghan will perform this military position.
The military service period is 18 to 21 months, therefore, the CARATs [como são chamados os fãs do NCT] will have to wait until 2026 — the year the idol is released — to see Jeonghan in lives, interviews and stages again.
Still, the day before he enlisted, Jeonghan left a brief letter to fans on Weverse, where he said goodbye to fans stating that he would remain healthy even while on duty and that he would not forget CARATs’ love, as reported by the Koreaboo portal.
Read the translation:
CARATs, it’s Jeonghan.
I won’t lose sight of how grateful I am for the abundant love that CARATs always send me, and for now, I’ll be cheering on the members’ activities alongside you.
I’m going to eat well, sleep well, and be well, so don’t worry, guys.
CARATs, stay healthy too, and we’ll see you again.
I’ll be back! Hanihae.”
It is worth remembering thatJeonghan became the first SEVENTEEN member to enlist in the military, as the group that debuted under PLEDIS Entertainment in 2015 has 12 other members: S. Coups, The8, Jun, Joshua, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino.
