A previously unknown piece of music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, likely written in his youth, has been accidentally discovered in a Leipzig library, The Guardian reports.
The work, titled Ganz kleine Nachtmusik, dates from the 1760s and consists of seven miniatures for string trio, lasting about 12 minutes. It was found while updating the Köchel catalog, which collects Mozart’s works in chronological order. The manuscript is a copy made around 1780 and is considered the only source for this composition.
The work premiered in Salzburg, and on September 21 it will be held for the first time in Leipzig.
It has been previously reported that Wolfgang Mozart’s music has a kind of magic. It has a positive effect on people’s mental health.
