Jenniefrom BLACKPINK, commented on the vape controversy in an interview given to this month’s edition of the North American magazine Harper’s Bazaar, published this Thursday, 19th.
This is because, in July of this year, the singer was the target of online reprisals after internet users identified Jennie using the electronic cigarette in a vlog posted on the idol’s YouTube channel. The cut, which circulated around the web, was removed from the original video.
At the time, a public apology was issued by the agency that manages the idol’s career, OA. [ODD ATELIER]stating that: “Jennie acknowledges and deeply regrets her mistake in vaping in-house and causing disruption to staff. She has personally apologized to any local staff who may have been impacted.”
With that, the magazine commented on the incident, stating that “privacy is a luxury and the slightest spontaneity of any member can become an incident”, as reported by the Koreaboo portal, to which Jennie completed:
“What can I do? If Koreans think it’s wrong, I have to correct myself,” Jennie said. “I understand why you’re upset. It’s cultural, it’s historical. It’s time. And I can’t go against time,” she said of fans’ concerns.
