Portrait – His salt-and-pepper hair and red glasses made him instantly recognizable. At 55, Beatrice Zavaro is the sole lawyer for Dominique Pellicotti, the main defendant in Mazan’s rape trial. We met him at his home in Marseille.
“Mr Pellicote sent me a letter in March 2021. In it, he asked me to see him to talk to him about his case and to offer me his protection,” Beatrice Zavaro, whom we meet in her backyard, remembers.
