Why won’t Jun and Jeonghan promote SEVENTEEN’s next comeback?

Find out why Jun and Jeonghan will not be able to participate in the promotions for boy group SEVENTEEN’s upcoming comeback

On Thursday, the 12th, SEVENTEEN announced the long-awaited release date for their next comeback, with the 12th mini-album “I FELT HELPLESS”: October 14th. However, although a comeback is always highly anticipated by fans, this one comes with a bitter taste for CARATs.

This is because, in August, PLEDIS Entertainment, the company responsible for managing the boy group’s career, issued a statement revealing that the group’s upcoming activities will not include the members. June and Jeonghan.

But why?

According to the statement, during the second half of 2024, June will go to China with the intention of starting his acting career, in addition to seeking other opportunities, without revealing a specific date for his return. Already Jeonghan will have to take 18 months off due to mandatory military service for South Korean men.

Despite this, PLEDIS states that the idols have recorded much of the content for the next comeback, such as songs and the music video, however, they will not be present in the promotional activities, as well as in the ‘SEVENTEEN’ tour. [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR’, scheduled to start in October.

Check out the full note, released in August:

“Hello.

This is PLEDIS Entertainment.

We would like to provide information about SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan and Jun’s activities in the second half of 2024.

Jeonghan is scheduled to fulfill his military obligation in the second half of 2024. Although Jeonghan has filmed as much content as he can in advance, he will not be able to participate in the promotional activities for the 12th mini album and SEVENTEEN. [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR, scheduled to begin in October. Jeonghan will still be able to meet CARATs through the previously announced fan signing event and Lollapalooza Berlin. More details about Jeonghan’s military service will be provided later in a separate announcement.

After in-depth discussions with Jun and the other SEVENTEEN members, we have decided that Jun will pursue acting and other opportunities in China during the second half of this year. Like Jeonghan, Jun has completed filming for content that could be prepared in advance. However, due to an overlap with the on-site filming schedule, Jun will not be able to participate in Lollapalooza Berlin, the 12th mini-album performances, and SEVENTEEN. [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR. Jun is determined to participate in SEVENTEEN’s activities, and although he will not be able to participate in the world tour, Jun will participate in as many schedules involving CARATs as he can.

We ask for your kind understanding and support for the healthy completion of Jeonghan’s military service and Jun’s upcoming projects. Please continue to show your love for SEVENTEEN and stay tuned for SEVENTEEN’s upcoming activities this year.

Thanks”.
