In a recent NewJeans live, the girl group members made a series of criticisms of HYBE and the current management of ADOR
This Wednesday, the 11th, the five members of NewJeans, Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyeinheld a surprise live broadcast via a secondary YouTube channel, which has now been deleted, to speak publicly for the first time about the recent events in the battle between HYBE and the businesswoman Min Hee Jinformer CEO of ADOR, the company responsible for managing the girl group.
It is worth remembering that, right at the beginning of the broadcast (via Koreaboo), the quintet highlighted that they decided to speak out on their own, and that at no time were they asked for Hee Jin so that they could talk about the subject. According to the idols, they chose to do the live to present the points that they would like to express to the public.
The main criticisms presented by the group were related to the new management of ADOR, which has been in force since the dismissal of Min Hee Jin from the CEO position, stating that they have come to see the conglomerate as an “inhumane company”, and that how HYBE currently operates “is not correct and moral”.
Throughout the live, Hanni also highlighted the importance of former CEO Min to the group, and how HYBE has infringed on its content.
“Something that we all hold very dear, something that plays a very important role in the color and image of our team, is our media content and creative production. Despite saying that they would leave all creative production to our now former CEO Min Hee Jin, through official statements, which I think many of you must have read and seen during our personal meetings, they infringed on our content,” the artist explained.
Hanni He continues his speech by stating that “It was content that not only we worked very hard on, but our team spent endless hours to produce and release, exclusively for our fans. If they had any understanding of what kind of team we are and the content we create, they would have thought more deeply before crossing the line they themselves set.”
According to fans on social media, the infringed content pointed out by the singer would be the videos on the YouTube channel “Ban Heesoo”, which contained extra videos made by the production company Dolphiners Films, which complemented the story of some of the girl group’s music videos.
In the broadcast, Hanni also explains an internal problem at ADOR that arose after the departure of Min Hee Jinrevealing that the company’s management and creative area no longer function in the same way.
“Because of this incident, we realized that there is not much we can do to prevent these problems. Personally, the way ADOR used to operate, business management and creative production were not separate, and they were the factors that acted and worked in harmony together. That was the way it worked and it was perfectly fine.
Now that she is no longer CEO, these factors that should continue to work together in harmony are now being seen as two different areas of work.”
With this, the artist highlights that NewJeans will not follow the orders imposed by HYBE blindly, stating that the group has lost confidence in the conglomerate, that the dispute has hindered their work, and asking the agency to treat them better.
“Just as we have our own individual thoughts and feelings, we have our choice to decide how we choose to react to each situation and we will not follow every order from HYBE blindly. We are more than aware that this is hindering our work and that we should be treated much better than we are now.
It is very hard to truly believe that they are sincere about wanting to help us continue working with our former CEO. Despite being in the middle of the current legal conflict, she is expected to creatively plan and produce our future ventures in just two months, which I personally think makes no sense at all.”
Finally, Hanni ends by saying that “We don’t want to hear all the empty words about how they are going to help us continue working with Min Hee Jin. All we want is for this legal conflict to be resolved and for our work environment to return to normal.”
