After the “sexually suggestive” children’s T-shirts, the giant fast fashion is at the heart of the new controversy.
While Zara, the Spanish ready-to-wear giant, has been claiming for several months that it has launched a move into luxury upmarket, a recent video released online may undermine this new position.
It was on the TikTok social network that we noticed this short video. We see two young women walking down the street, sheltering under an umbrella. In addition to the fact that one of them does not wear the right shoes for a rainy day, he also faced a funny situation.
“My feet are foaming.”
After contact with water, white foam formed between his toes and the soles of his mules. Laughing, he draws himself and explains. “I’m with my girlfriend and I don’t know why, my feet are foaming. Everyone looks at my feet and laughs,” he adds, not losing his good humor. “Conclusion. if you’re buying Zara heeled slides, avoid the rain,” she humorously captioned her video.
Cascading contradictions
A publication that, surprisingly, made Internet users react. “Liked” more than 50,000 times, it has received many comments, everyone wants to share their experience. “I have a Zara faux leather jacket that foams in the rain and leaves white marks,” said one netizen. “I don’t find that very encouraging,” echoed another, while a third asked in a dismissive tone. “Now do you believe us when we say there are ultra-chemicals in our clothes?”

It’s been a few weeks of controversy for the giant fast fashion. At the end of August, the brand was already in the headlines after selling “sexually suggestive” children’s T-shirts. These have been permanently withdrawn from sale.
