Released in 2006, the animation “Chaves em Desenhos Animado” is an adaptation of the classic Mexican series “Chaves”, created and starring Roberto Gomez BolañosChespirito, in the 70s, and which remained on display for almost 50 years.
The cartoon, like the series, was also developed by Bolañoswhere the idea of transforming the famous village into an animated series would have emerged in the 90s, as revealed by the creator himself in some interviews. The project officially came to fruition on October 21, 2006, and soon became a resounding success. In total, the production had 135 episodes divided into seven seasons, which were shown until 2014.
Although the animation conquered all of Latin America, a big question remained in the minds of Chaves fans: after all, why is Chiquinha the only character in the group who does not appear in the cartoon?
Chiquinha’s disappearance
Among the classic Chaves characters, Chiquinha ended up being the only one who did not participate in any episode of “Chaves em Desenhos Animado”. According to the Tecmundo portal, the reason behind the absence of Seu Madruga’s daughter is a disagreement between the team of Chespiritowith Marie Antoinette of the Snowsthe interpreter of Chiquinha.
The fight took place in court, after Antoinette register all copyrights of your character in your name, making it Bolaños no longer had autonomy over the character. For this reason, there are two versions that explain Chiquinha’s absence from the cartoon.
The first states that Snow would not have accepted the request to participate in the production and, therefore, was left out. The second, which is the version defended by Marie Antoinettereveals that, after the battle for rights in court, he himself Roberto Bolaños blocked his participation in the animation.
Over the years, many fans began to build hope that the problem would be resolved, and Chaves’ friend would appear in the new episodes — but that never happened.
