After ENHYPEN’s security and privacy were threatened by stalker fans on a recent flight, BELIFT LAB has announced that it will “take severe measures”
The agency responsible for managing ENHYPEN’s career, BELIFT LAB, stated that it will “take severe measures” against stalker fans of the group for invasion of privacy.
As reported by the Naver portal, the company discovered that sasaengs (people known for invading the privacy of public figures and for being excessively obsessed with South Korean artists) had access to information about the group’s return flight from China to South Korea, scheduled for last Wednesday, the 4th.
Using the data, these sasaengs registered with the airline so that, using the personal information of the ENHYPEN members, they could choose the idols’ seats. The discovery was made when some members tried to change to a different flight than the one scheduled, but discovered that the members had been blocked from changing seats, causing the group to have to talk to the airline (Air China) to resolve the issue.
Due to the security threat, the harm suffered by the artists and the crime they were exposed to, since the data was obtained illegally, BELIFT LAB issued a statement, saying: “We are taking severe measures against the illegal acquisition and sale of flight information. [do ENHYPEN] and we will do our utmost to protect our artists.”
