Former NCT member Taeil’s action came after he was accused of a crime whose investigation became public in the last week of August.
After Taeil being removed from NCT, amid the disclosure of the accusation of sexual crime involving the idol, last Wednesday, 04, the artist’s personal account on Instagram was made private.
As reported by the Koreaboo portal, there was also a drop in the number of accounts that the former NCT member follows, since, before the scandal, the accounts followed by the singer were just over 50, and now they total only 42. More than that, he also lost more than 1.1 million followers since last week.
It is worth remembering that, on August 28, the agency responsible for managing NCT’s activities, SM Entertainment, shared a statement to report the departure of Taeilof the group, also making public the case for which the idol is being investigated.
Upon evaluating the facts related to the matter, we recognize the seriousness of the situation and have determined that Taeil can no longer continue his activities with the (NCT) team,” the company wrote in part of the statement.
Additionally, SM revealed that both the agency and the idol learned of the investigation in mid-August, and that Taeil was questioned on the day he was removed from NCT. The group’s members have since unfollowed the artist on social media, and SM has been working to remove all mentions of Taeil of the contents with the training.
The case remains under investigation.
