One of the most iconic villains in DC comics will be in ‘Joker: Two-Face’: Two-Face, one of the main antagonists in Batman stories! The character will be played by Harry Lawteyan actor who became known for playing Robert Spearing in “Industry”, a series on BBC Two and HBO.
However, the way in which this iconic comic book figure will meet the Joker, played by Joaquin Phoenixin the movies commands by Todd Phillipsis still a mystery that will only be solved with the premiere of the sequel, which is scheduled to take place on October 3rd of this year in Brazilian cinemas.

Two-Face’s real identity
Introduced in “Detective Comics #66”, released in 1942, created by Bill Finger and Bob KanecomoTwo-Face’s real identity is Harvey Dent, a prosecutor who worked with Commissioner James Gordon and the hooded version of Bruce Wayne in the hero’s early years fighting crime in Gotham City.
An interesting fact is that the character was originally called Harvey Apollo Kent — yes, the same surname as Superman — but it was changed to the one he is currently known as in “Batman #50”, from 1948.
How did Harvey Dent’s evil persona come about?
Of fragile sanity, Dent ended up gaining a face full of villainy when the left side of his face was completely disfigured by an acid attack during the trial of mobster Sal Maroni. From then on, he created a divided persona and began to get involved in crimes, which he had a trademark for, since they all involved the number two — not only the crimes, but also his first plot was divided into TWO parts, since “Detective Comics #66” ended with a hook for a next narrative, presented TWO issues later, in “Detective Comics #68”.
More than that, to make any decision, the now antagonist used a “lucky coin” with one side scratched, which he said was a memento from his father. By tossing the coin, luck was cast, since one side reflected positive actions and the other, negative ones, and it was possible to save lives by using a personalized coin flip.
Other identities?
In addition to Dent, Two-Face was the adopted alter ego of three other characters: Dent’s butler Wilkins (Batman #50, 1948), an actor named Paul Sloane (Batman #68, 1951), and an exhibition manager named George Blake (Detective Comics #187).
A new face?
In 1943’s “Detective Comics #80”, Dent was given a new face by plastic surgeon Dr. Albert Ekhart, and remained with a restored appearance until 1953’s “Batman #81”, when the side of his face was blown off by an explosion.
Connection with Joker
After his appearance in “Batman #81”, Two-Face remained away from the Gotham vigilante’s comics until “Batman #234” in 1971, that is, TWO years before completing TWO decades away from the Dark Knight. With his return, it didn’t take long for him to face a supervillain for the first time, as this happened four years later in “Batman #258”, where he encountered the Joker.
Although the first moment was tense, the two ended up teaming up in “The Brave and the Bold #129-130”, marking the first time that Two-Face worked alongside another villain.
