Marking Lia’s return, this will be ITZY’s first comeback with all five members in almost a year. Find out more!
After almost a year without promoting as a quintet, ITZY is already planning to return as a full group. On Wednesday, the 4th, the South Korean portal TenAsia published an article stating that the girl group would be preparing for a comeback with all five members next month.
Moments after the publication, a representative from JYP Entertainment, the company responsible for the group, spoke out stating that “ITZY is preparing for a full group comeback in October.” Information about the date and lineup of the new release has not yet been released.
In addition to the new comeback marking ITZY’s first release since January, when they released the album “BORN TO BE”, the new album will also be the first to feature Liasince the promotions of “Kill My Doubt”, in 2023.
This is because, in September of last year, JYP announced that Lia would be taking a hiatus to take care of her health, after being diagnosed with anxiety. In July 2024, the company communicated to fans through the JYP Fans app (via Soompi), that the artist already felt ready to return to activities.
“After treatment and rest, tension and anxiety symptoms improved significantly.
Therefore, after careful discussion with Lia, it was decided that she will resume her activities starting with ITZY’s new album, scheduled to be released in the second half of this year.
However, for prearranged schedules and filming before the release of the new album, only the four members (Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, Yuna) will be participating. We kindly ask for your understanding.
We sincerely thank the fans who have shown warm encouragement and support for Lia’s recovery,” the agency said in a statement.
