You are an Italian, and an idolater in France, as in your own country; How does the Italian public compare to the French public? And how to tame this Italian public?
My heart is already divided between France and Italy, I am so attached to these two countries. Let’s say that I am French by adoption and Italian by nationality. This is my country, but Tim Burton’s cinema touches all generations and has no specific nationality. In this film we talk about important, universal topics. Although it is a comedy and fun film, it touches on deeper themes such as life, death and especially love.
Since we’re talking about love, Tim Burton is your director, but he’s also the person who shares your life. Was it difficult to distinguish between the director and the companion on the set?
I don’t like to talk about my personal life because it is very important to me. But I can say that our relationship certainly creates a form of complicity that gives life to creativity.
Today, Monica Bellucci at Tim Burton takes it for granted. You were a goth woman we hadn’t seen before.
I can only say that the character of Delores was already in Tim Burton’s universe. It has been photographed so many times. Finally, one of his paintings comes to life.
