The 1989 “Batman” and 2022’s “The Batman” films will return to theaters in celebration of Batman Day in September.
To celebrate Batman Day, which this year falls on September 21, the actors Michael Keaton and Robert Pattinson will return to theaters in the role of Batman. The 1989 film “Batman” and 2022’s “The Batman” will be shown again on September 19, two days before the date dedicated to one of DC’s main characters.
“Batman” from 1989 follows Bruce Wayne, a millionaire philanthropist who, as a child, witnesses his parents being murdered by a criminal. This trauma inspires him to become a superhero to fight crime, focusing especially on the dangerous and insane villain Joker, who begins to control Gotham City’s underworld and threatens the life of the woman Bruce loves. Directed by Tim Burton and starring the actors Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson, The film was nominated for several awards at the time of its release, even winning the Oscar for Best Art Direction.
Now “The Batman”, starring Robert Pattinson and directed by Matt Reevesexplores a more rebellious and dark version of the hero, where Bruce Wayne finds himself in the depths of Gotham, investigating the city’s hidden corruption and establishing a figure of vengeance for the population.
Ticket sales and available theaters have not yet been announced, but both films are also available on Max streaming.
