Find out what curious habit Jungkook, the youngest member of BTS, decided to change after becoming a music star
Eleven years ago, the boy group that would become one of the biggest male groups in K-pop emerged in the South Korean music industry: BTS. Formed by BigHit Entertainment (now BigHit Music), the group debuted on June 13, 2013 with the mini-album “2 Cool 4 Skool”, and the title track “No More Dream”.
Unlike what many people might imagine today, at that time, not everything was easy for RM, V, Jimin, Jin, J-Hope, Jungkook and Sucks. In fact, the reality of their formation was extremely different from the one they live today, since, when they debuted, their company was considered small and did not have as many resources as the famous “Big 3”, the reference agencies in k-pop, composed of YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment and JYP Entertainment.
For this reason, the members of BTS had to go through challenging conditions until the arrival of their long-awaited success around 2015, with the release of “I NEED U”, when things started to improve.
Despite the difficulties, the period served to mature the members, who grew together. Having spent years side by side, living together daily since the trainee period, it is common that, over time, some changes in habits occur — as was the case with Jungkookthe maknae (youngest member).
Changing habits
When it debuted, Jungkook was only 15 years old and, having been in the career since such a young age, the older members of BTS joke that they “created” the artist together, since they know Kookie (his affectionate nickname), since when he was still in school.
Since then, in his 11 years in the industry, the maknae has proven that he has grown both professionally and personally, and in 2018, during a live broadcast, he shared with ARMYs an eating habit that ended up changing as he got older and became famous.
According to the star, he changed the way he uses jeotgarak, the famous Korean chopsticks, known in Brazil as just chopsticks, used in Asian cuisine as cutlery. Jungkook He says that, in the past, he used to use them in a firm way, keeping them together, since “This way, I can hold something and they are completely stuck together. This was amazing when I ate ramen. I picked up all the noodles with this handle.”
However, as reported by Observatório dos Famosos, the idol realized that the way he held the jeotgarak was very “embarrassing”, and decided to hold it in the traditional way, separating each chopstick a little and moving only the top one, using his thumb and index finger.
“I think it took about 3 days to fix [a forma como segurava]. Wooden chopsticks are easy to use. So, I practiced with wooden chopsticks.”, Jungkook revealed.
