Deadpool and Wolverine are quickly taking theaters by storm, becoming one of the highest-grossing films of the year with over $1 billion at the global box office.
Deadpool and Wolverine has been one of the top-grossing movies this year, earning more than $1.029 billion since its worldwide release on July 25.
According to Variety, the Marvel film starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman is setting new records. Through August 11, it had earned $494.3 million at the US domestic box office, making it the highest-grossing R-rated film in US box office history.
Now Deadpool and Wolverine is second only to the animated film Inside Out 2, which has grossed over $1.5 billion. In addition, the film became the second Disney project to cross the billion dollar mark in 2024.
It is expected to soon surpass 2019’s Joker (which grossed $1.07 billion) to become the highest-grossing R-rated film in history.
