Everything we already know about ‘Avatar 3’

Joining the list of the biggest box office hits in the world, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ is a huge success among audiences, even though it arrived 13 years after its predecessor, the classic and revolutionary ‘Avatar’, a film released in 2009 under the direction of the director James Cameron.

However, this is just one of four sequences devised by Cameron which are expected to hit theaters by 2028 and in preparation for the release of the next one, RECREIO has gathered below everything that is already known about ‘Avatar 3’. Check it out!

The title of the third film in the franchise

Last year, the BBC (via Cinepop) claimed to have had access to the document that presents the supposed names of the sequels and among them is the third feature film, which would have the subtitle “The Seed Bearer”, which in an adapted translation would be something like “The Seed Bearer”.

However, with the first day of the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, United States, it was revealed that the new film was titled “Avatar: Fire and Ash”.

A new clan

After exploring the history of the Omaticaya, the jungle tribe, and the Metkayina, the water clan, the new plot will explore a new people of Pandora: the ash clan. This is because, in a recent interview with 20 Minutes, Cameron said he wants to address a dark side of the Na’vi that has not yet been presented.

I want to show the Na’vis from another perspective, because for now I’ve only shown their good sides. In the first films, there are very negative human examples and very positive Na’vis examples. In Avatar 3, we’re going to do the opposite.”

The characters

Among the new names that will be part of the plot are Varang, a Na’vi who will be played by Oona Chaplin (Betrayal) and Dr. Karina Mogue, scientist played by Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere at the Same Time). In addition to them, there is a new character native to Pandora without a confirmed name who will be played by David Thewlis (Harry Potter).

In addition to them, the public can expect the returns of Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), as well as their children, Kiri (Sigourney Weaver), Lo’ak (Britain Dalton), Tuk (Trinity Jo-Li Bliss) and Spider (Jack Champion). Quaritch is also back (Stephen Lang), Ronald (Kate Winslet), Tonowari (Cliff Curtis) and Reya (Bailey Bass).

Release date
