Find out what information has already been confirmed about the live-action adaptation of one of the favorite animated titles of the 2000s: ‘Totally Spies!’
The live-action version of ‘Totally Spies!’ is already taking shape! The project will feature real-life versions of Sam, Alex and Clover, three friends who lead double lives in Beverly Hills, since in addition to being stylish high school students, they are spies for the World Organization for Human Protection (better known by the acronym WOOHP) and are always ready to face extremely dangerous missions at the behest of Jerry, the leader of the spy agency.

THE FORMAT
The first live-action adaptation of the cartoon released in 2001 will be made into a series. The information was confirmed by Amazon MGM Studios, which confirmed in June of this year the development of the series.
NAMES INVOLVED
The American actor and producer, Will Ferrellwho starred in “Barbie” as the CEO of Mattel and in “Despicable Me 4,” where he voiced the villain Maxime Le Mal, will serve as executive producer on the project.
Additionally, the cartoon’s original distributor, Banijay Kids & Family, is also involved, although the company’s actual role in the production has not been clarified.
“‘Totally Spies!’ has been a huge success for Banijay Kids & Family, having been translated into 60 languages and sold in over 220 territories. With a social media following of 3 million, the series continues to thrive in its animated form with the recently released seventh season. Rola Bauer approached me about a live-action adaptation, and we were thrilled to partner with Amazon MGM Studios. With the support of her, Ludovic Attal and Punit Matoo, we are honored to join a stronghold of female-focused production companies at Gloria Sanchez Productions to produce for Prime Video,” said Benoît Di Sabatino, CEO of Banijay Kids & Family, in a press release.
Information regarding the director, screenwriter or cast members has not yet been revealed to the public.
PLOT
The synopsis for the production has not been released either. However, the ScreenRant portal claims that the series will bring the same premise as the animation, with the trio acting as international spies for WOOHP, but this time a little older, since they will not be college students.
DEBUT
The episodes will be distributed in the Prime Video catalog, Amazon’s streaming platform, and are scheduled to premiere at the end of 2025, as revealed by the CEO of Banjay Kids, Francois Riahiduring a company event.
