SM Entertainment reveals plans for the second half of the year

SM Entertainment has released its plans involving K-pop idols and groups for the second half of 2024; find out more!

This Thursday, the 8th, SM Entertainment released (via Soompi) some of its plans involving its K-pop idols for the second half of 2024.

The main highlight is between Ireneleader of Red Velvet, who will release his first solo album, and the unit NCT DREAMwho will make another comeback while continuing the “THE DREAM SHOW 3: DREAM ( ) SCAPE” tour across Latin America and North America.

Other releases and comebacks also include mini-albums by Keyfrom SHINee, Yesungfrom Super Junior, Taeyeonfrom Girls Generation, from the groups WayV, RIIZE and aespa and the unit NCT WISH. The next singles will be performed by Sungminfrom Super Junior, from HyoyeonGirls’ Generation, and Markfrom NCT.

In addition, SM also revealed that it has plans to introduce a new female girl group, which has not happened since aespa, which debuted in 2020. The company also plans to do the same with a boy group, but only in 2025, following the success of RIIZE and the unit NCT WISH.

On the topic of solo artists, MinhoSHINee’s 2nd album is about to be released and will also be involved in TV projects and a stage play. Meanwhile, Chanyeolfrom EXO, and Jaehyunfrom NCT, will make their solo debuts in August.

Finally, the reality show “Made in Korea: The K-pop Experience” promises to feature DEAR ALICE, SM’s first British K-pop group. Although there are no dates yet, the agency guarantees that the program will be broadcast later this year on the BBC.
