BTS’ Suga was charged with driving an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol after working in the military
In South Korea, operating an electric scooter requires a license, as incorrect use of the vehicle can cause accidents. Sucksfrom BTS, had this license active until last Tuesday, 06, when his driver’s license was canceled and a fine was applied after being charged with drunk driving.
The decision was made by the Yongsan Police Station, where Sucks was taken away by a police officer after being found lying in front of his house after the incident with the electric scooter. The idol had been drinking at a dinner after work in the army, as he is currently serving his military enlistment as a social service agent, a position that allows soldiers to return home daily after completing their scheduled workload.
“I violated the Traffic Law due to my complacent thinking that it was a short distance,” the idol said in a public apology. “I fell while parking the scooter in front of my house, and the nearby police officer conducted a breathalyzer test, resulting in the revocation of my license and a fine.”
According to the South Korean portal Koreaboo, to violate the Traffic Law, the breathalyzer test Sucks had the result between 0.08 to 0.2%. The first percentage suggests 4 to 5 drinks in the last two hours, while the latter suggests more than 10 drinks and close to the blackout level in men of average height and weight. The exact percentage, however, was not released by the police.
The case is still ongoing at the Yongsan Police Station.
