Hello. This is BigHit Music. This is an additional statement regarding BTS member Suga.
First of all, we sincerely apologize once again for disappointing many with the unpleasant incident. We failed to carefully analyze several aspects of it and quickly released a statement, causing confusion.
1) On the use of the word ‘kickboard’
The company used the term ‘electric kickboard’ because we judged the vehicle in use to be a kickboard that had a seat attached to it. In the process of verification, we realized that the categorization of the vehicle differed according to its abilities and specifications, as well as the fact that the spectrum of repercussions for any accident would differ as such. We had no intention of downplaying the incident because of what was said to some extent. However, conclusively, we apologize for having made a statement in a hurry without examining things carefully. From now on, we plan to diligently take responsibility according to the type of vehicle as determined by the investigating officers.
2) About the fine and the revocation of your license
On August 6, after Suga passed the breathalyzer test, he immediately went home. The company and the artist failed to record the fact that there are remaining steps in the investigation process, and we mistakenly believed that the case had been concluded. As we realize the seriousness of the case, we regret that we communicated incorrect information due to errors in internal communication.
Furthermore, the artist and the company bow their heads in apology to everyone for failing to act in an exemplary manner and for causing an unpleasant incident during his time of military service. We sincerely apologize to the fans who were also disappointed.
From now on, we will diligently cooperate in further police investigations and accept the results of the investigations.”
