A heatwave has swept across the country since Sunday and will reach the northern half on Tuesday July 30. 41 departments are on orange heat alert. The oppressive heat makes us slow down, drag our feet – hard – yawn, sigh and even make us nervous. Paris-based doctor Remi Mifsud, dietitian nutritionist Alexandra Murcier and general practitioner Xavier Balong explain to us how high temperatures change our behavior.

Heat directly affects our state of fatigue. “When it’s very hot, the body temperature rises. Then the body has to expend energy to regulate it,” explains Alexandra Murcier. This causes fatigue, headaches, sometimes even nausea.
