The American actor was photographed with the Minister of Culture this Saturday, July 27, during the ceremony organized in his honor.

As part of the opening of the Paris Olympics, the American actor received a prestigious title from the Minister of Culture. This Saturday, July 27, Tom Cruise was indeed knighted in Arts and Letters by Rachida Dutt. The latter emphasized the importance of the actor in the world cinematographic landscape by sharing a photo with him. “His filming Mission impossible In Paris 2017, highlighted our capital magnificently,” Rachida Dutt first wrote in X, before thanking the latter for “his passionate defense of cinemas”, inspiring “all lovers of the big screen”. The minister here refers to one of the most famous scenes in the sixth episode Mission Impossible baptized Fallout:, where the actor appears in several locations in the capital, making the city parade after him thanks to a memorable chase. During the ceremony, he also reflected on the entire career of Nicole Kidman’s ex-girlfriend, from her first feature films in the 1980s (born on July 14) to his biggest blockbusters (War of the Worlds, Mission Impossible).

The “Knight of Arts and Letters” medal is always awarded to individuals who “through their artistic or literary works” have brought visibility to “Arts and Letters in France and throughout the world”. During the Cannes film festival held in May this year, this award was given to the American actor Kevin Costner. Recently, the singer and actress Camelia Jordana was also awarded this title.
