Until earlier this week, fans believed that the idols’ presence in the MV was placed as a spoiler of NewJeans’ formation, as they debuted a year after being seen in the music video.
However, last Tuesday, 23rd, Min Hee JinCEO of ADOR and responsible for managing NewJeans’ career, revealed that the two members had not had any signed authorization to participate in the MV or prior agreement. The information was provided by the businesswoman through the exposure of an email sent in 2021 to Park Ji WonCEO of HYBE.
“By the way, along with other things including how you introduced the girl group trainees in BTS’s music video without prior arrangement, I started to feel that there were continuous impolite actions. I am aware of the fact that there are many things happening that make it difficult for me to trust Source Music or HYBE in the future,” Min Hee Jin says in the email (via Koreaboo).
The revelation, which caught the BTS and NewJeans fandom off guard, does not yet have a version from HYBE on the matter.
