After HYBE revealed the groups that will be part of its exhibition at the Grammy Museum, many fans began to question the conglomerate about the absence of NewJeans, a girl group that is part of the subsidiary ADOR.
In a statement to South Korean newspaper Sports Kyunghyang (via Koreaboo), the company announced that “the option to participate in this exhibition was decided and chosen by the record company [ADOR]”However, this Monday, the 15th, a representative of the agency led by Min Hee Jin spoke to the Segye Business Sports World portal, where he denied the information.
“NewJeans’ absence from the HYBE exhibition was not due to our lack of cooperation. We felt that the exhibition could not showcase everything NewJeans has to offer properly,” the source said.
Titled “HYBE: We Believe in Music”, the exhibition will run from August 2 to September 15, and will be a partnership between HYBE and the Grammy Museum, featuring a vast collection of items from various artists from the company, and is considered one of the museum’s largest to date.
According to the CEO of the Grammy Museum, Michael Stickaone of the main objectives of the exhibition is to provide fans with greater proximity to their favorite artists.
“HYBE and its artists represent the present and future of the global music scene, and our goal with this exhibition is to deepen appreciation and respect for its creators and performers. HYBE has contributed to creating a playground of innovation that inspires fandoms that transcend age, gender, geography and more. The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to provide a space where fans can express their love for K-pop and feel closer to their favorite idols.”
