INSEE has just published a ranking of the 10 most popular names for girls and boys in France in 2023. Louise, Ambre, Gabrielle, Leo… Here are the trends of the year.
As every year, INSEE has compiled its list of the most given names in France (1). For girls this year, Louise is the first name to dethrone Jade, who comes in first to fourth place. Ambre takes a small place and occupies the second position in the ranking table, to which Alba is very close. Emma and Rose are still not moving this year and remain in the fifth and sixth positions. Next is Alma with 2342 births, then Alice with 2256 births.

The most popular boy names in France in 2023
Unsurprisingly, and for the third year in a row, Gabriel is the first name to top the list for boys, with 4,527 births in 2023. ranking, particularly with Leo taking third place in the rankings, followed by Louie and Mael.
