Relive some of the songs included in the soundtracks of the animations produced by Pixar that are hard to forget
Music, when used in film soundtracks, gives more meaning to the plot and brings out emotions and affective memories capable of making the audience laugh or feel emotional, depending on how they are combined with the scenes shown on the big screen.
In the case of animations, it is no different and, in some cases, these songs can remain forever etched in the memory of those who listen to them, taken to different situations outside of movie theaters, such as karaoke or even birthday and wedding parties.

1. Life is a Highway, from ‘Cars’
Packing Lightning McQueen and Mac’s trip along Route 66 before the protagonist stops in Radiator Springs, “Life is a Highway” is a song written by Canadian Tom Cochrane in 1991, which in “Cars” (2006) is presented in the voice of Gary LeVoxby the American country rock band Rascal Flatts. The track reflects on the ups and downs of life while comparing it to a road; watch it again above!
2. Remember Me, from ‘Coco’
Written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez It is Robert Lopez Specially composed for the soundtrack of ‘Coco’ (2017), the song “Remember Me” is the film’s theme song. The track is presented as the lullaby that Hector sang to his daughter, Mamá Coco, when she was little. At the end of the film, Miguel, the protagonist of the animation, sings the song to keep his great-grandfather’s memory alive.
“Remember Me” won awards such as the Oscar for best original song and the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards for best song, in addition to being nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song.
3. Married Life, from ‘Up’
Composed by Michael Giacchinowinner of the 2010 Oscar and Golden Globe in the category of Best Original Score for “Up” (2019), “Married Life” is presented in the first minutes of the film. The instrumental music guides the journey of love of Ellie and Carl Fredricksen, remembering the moments spent together from childhood until death did them part.
4. Friend I’m Here, from ‘Toy Story’
The theme song for the franchise about dolls that come to life when humans are not around, “Amigo Estou Aqui” (Friend I’m Here) was first heard in “Toy Story”, a film that hit theaters in 1995.
Written and composed by Randy Newmanwho wrote the entire soundtrack for the animation, the lyrics reinforce Andy’s friendship with his toys, as well as the friendship that exists between the boy’s own toys. In the Portuguese version, the song is performed byViola Joe; listen!
5. The Feast, from ‘Ratatouille’
“Le Festin” is the title of the only song to feature vocals in ‘Ratatouille’ (2007). Written and composed by Michael Giacchinothe song features the voice of the French singer Camille guiding the path of the little mouse Remy, who despite his species, dreams of becoming a chef in Paris, France.
Extra: Bundle of Joy, from ‘Inside Out’
In addition to “Up High Adventures”, Michael Giacchino joined the director Pete Docter for “Inside Out,” a 2015 film featuring Riley and her emotions.
The composer created the animation’s theme song, “Bundle of Joy”, which can be heard at the beginning of the plot when introducing Riley and her first emotion: Joy (Joy, in the original version).
