Relive some of the most emotional deaths ever seen in Disney and Pixar animations
In addition to presenting fun plots that feature scenes that make everyone laugh out loud, animations are also responsible for portraying moments in life that we all have to go through, and that are not always happy, such as losing a loved one.
With that in mind, RECREIO has selected five deaths from animations that were impossible to hold back the tears. Check it out!
1. Ellie — UP (2009)
“UP” begins by telling the beautiful love story of Carl and Ellie, from the day they met to their last moments together. However, what no one expected is that, in the first few minutes, we would all be moved by Ellie’s death and the portrayal of Carl’s pain at losing his beloved.
2. Mufasa — The Lion King (1994)

The death of Mufasa, Simba’s father in “The Lion King” is certainly one of the saddest moments in animation. In the scene, the king of the savannah goes to the rescue of his son, who was about to be run over by a herd of wildebeest. He manages to save the cub, but ends up being pushed by Scar, his own brother, after getting stuck while trying to save himself.
3. Bambi’s Mother — Bambi (1942)

Another scene that left its mark on fans of the animation is the death of Bambi’s mother, after being targeted by a hunter. The most touching moment, however, is when the little deer appears alone in the forest, calling for his mother, but without response.
4. Bing Bong — Inside Out (2015)

Overall, “Inside Out” is a really fun movie — but it managed to bring tears to everyone’s eyes with the death of Bing Bong, Riley’s imaginary best friend when she was little. In the scene, he is in the well of lost memories alongside Joy as they try to get out. Seeing that the vehicle was too heavy, Bing Bong decides to stay behind so his friend can continue their journey, and as a result, he ends up disappearing, becoming a forgotten memory.
5. Coral — Finding Nemo (2003)

Another film that brings tears to the eyes of the audience right from the start is “Finding Nemo”. This is because, in the first few minutes, we see Marlin and his wife, Coral, happily sharing the couple’s many eggs. However, a barracuda ends up attacking the reef where they lived, killing Coral and practically all the eggs, leaving only one — Nemo.
