The pages of Oleg Gazmanov, Polina Gagarina, Grigory Leps, Shaman, Chicherina and the Lyube group no longer exist.
The world’s largest music streaming service, Spotify, has removed the pages of several Russian artists against whom the United States and the European Union have imposed sanctions for actively supporting the war in Ukraine. It was reported by Radio Liberty.
So, the songs of Grigory Leps, Shaman, Oleg Gazmanov, Polina Gagarina, Chicherina and the group disappeared from the Spotify streaming service Lube.
It is not yet known whether the service itself deleted the songs of the Russian singer-propagandists, or whether it was the result of an outsider hacking the servers.
Let’s recall that in April last year, Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Fedorov called on the music services Deezer, Apple, Youtube Music and Spotify to block Russian performers, because they pay taxes to the Russian budget from income from listening.
Swedish streaming music service Spotify finally suspended operations in Russia in December 2023. Service by legal entity LLC Spotify was liquidated. Due to its exit from the Russian market, the company lost more than 2 million paid subscribers in the first two quarters of last year.
Spotify is the largest streaming service in the world. Founded in 2006 in Stockholm. As of April 2024, it has 615 million monthly users.
