According to rumors, 2NE1 and YG Entertainment were negotiating a possible 15th anniversary comeback. Understand!
On May 17, 2024, 2NE1 celebrated their 15th debut anniversary. In May, CL, Sandara Park, Park Bom It is Minzy came together for a special commemorative photo shoot, which was shared with fans via the four members’ Instagram with touching messages.
“2NE1 has always been my home that made me feel the freedom to love, to touch, to express, to create, to shine, to mix, to connect and share with people. I hope today 2NE1 reminds you to feel your light. Thank you, always. NOLZA.”, wrote leader CL in her post.
Since then, numerous rumors about a possible reunion for a comeback celebrating 15 years of debut have emerged on social media. In the early hours of this Tuesday, the 25th, the South Korean portal OSEN (via Soompi), reported that the renowned second generation girl group would meet with Yang Hyun Sukfounder of YG Entertainment, the group’s creative agency, to discuss the possibility of a comeback.
After the repercussion of the matter, the company spoke out through a note issued by the Newsen portal, where it said:
“It is true that the executive producer and the members are scheduled to meet. Other than that, we have no further details to confirm at this time.”
It is worth remembering that, back in May, sources from the South Korean music industry stated that CLIt is Yang Hyun Suk they would have met for dinner, further increasing speculation about a new comeback. In response, YG confirmed that the two were together, however, in an “unofficial company” meeting.
Formed by YG Entertainment, 2NE1 debuted in 2009 with the track “Fire”, consisting of four members: CL, Sandara Park, Minzy It is Park Bom. Unfortunately, the group’s disbandment was announced in November 2016, by decision of the company. His last official release took place in January 2017, with the farewell song “Goodbye”.
