Understand the theory that places Riley, from ‘Inside Out’ and Andy, from ‘Toy Story’ as members of the same family in the Pixar universe!
Creating animations since 1986, Pixar released its 28th full-length animated film last Thursday, the 20th: ‘Inside Out 2’, a sequel to the animation released in 2015 which, since being released, has sparked a theory that connects the universe of Riley’s emotions with that of the dolls that come to life in ‘Toy Story’.
It turns out that, on the internet, theories that have gained strength in recent days claim that Riley is Andy’s cousin, while others use the same arguments to argue that the girl is the character’s own mother.
Like this?
The first point raised came up in the year “Inside Out” was released when it was pointed out that Riley does not have the same physical characteristics as her parents, after all, they have dark hair and eyes, while the girl is blonde with blue eyes — similar to Andy’s mother, this being evidence that they could be the same person.
At one point, Pixar even stated that, yes, all animations are connected in some way. However, the theory that states that the two are the same person loses credibility when analyzing the elements contained in both films, as “Toy Story” begins in the 1990s, and “Inside Out” features technologies from the 2000s, such as smartphones and video calls, placing the two’s birthdays at completely different times.
It is worth remembering that even the journalist Jon Negroni, creator of the Pixar Theory in 2013, stated that it is impossible for Riley to be Andy’s mother. On his blog, Negroni wrote in 2015: “Seriously. Look, Riley is Riley. She is not someone else, and trying to force these connections is missing the point.”
As for Andy’s mother being Riley’s aunt, the theory that went viral on the web states that the relationship between the two is possible, as, in addition to having the same colored locks and eyes, it is likely that Riley was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. .Andersen.
It turns out that one of Riley’s memories in the first film shows her first memory with her parents, which should have happened in the maternity ward, but as the parents do not have the haggard appearance, common in a postpartum situation, the idea of that the moment is, in fact, when she was handed over to her adoptive parents.
