A final round of applause for the second edition of the Nouvelles Vagues festival, with five films and actress Saoirse Ronan honored at the closing ceremony.
The grand finale of the Biarritz Film Festival, Nouvelles Vagues, did the event justice. The second edition of the Basque cinephile meeting ended this Saturday, June 22, at the Gare du Midi in front of a packed house of 1,400 people. Presented by Ana Girardo, the ceremony awarded the performer of the year, but also five films out of eight in competition. so Girls will be girls Won the Grand Prix by Shuchi Talati when Eat at night Caroline was awarded the Jury Award by Poggi and Jonathan, but also the Student Award. Irish-American actress Saoirse Ronan won the Best Actor nomination for her role The Outrun: by Nora Fingscheidt, a film that itself won the Pass Culture Jury Prize. Finally, the film that opened the festival, The night drags on by Michel Blanchard, walked away with the Audience Award and Thierry de Peretti’s film was awarded a Special Mention, Like his look. It should be noted that the cups of the ceremony were imagined by the students of Ecole Boulle and designed by Maison Desrues.
